The leaders who represent our school have a broader impact on how students perceive their education. For the 2023-24 school year, juniors Johan Caceres and Naomi Richardson were elected Vice President of Museum’s student government and 11th-grade representative, respectively.
Johan Caceres is fit for vice president because he believes he’s “gifted with having an innate sense of leadership, which a lot of [his] peers and teachers have complimented me for in the past and is something I want to enhance as I move forward in life.”
Caceres plans to encourage students to “attend games of our sports teams and bring more events to our school to lift school spirit.” He added, “This school has so many talented and gifted students and we can all benefit from celebrating with them and being more united.”
He plans to achieve these goals by “establishing great communication with the grade representatives and the president in order to make sure we are all working together for the representation of the students in our school.”
Caceres said “Long-term I hope we are able to become a more united school with a more defined culture and identity and something we can be proud of overall.”
Naomi Richardson believes her “main responsibility is making sure 11th graders have a fun year and to make them feel comfortable during what is described as the most difficult year of high school.”
As a grade representative, Richardson’s duty lies in representing the interests of the junior class. She said she “plans to make herself as available as possible to [her] peers and go around asking about what they’d like to see happen.”
Richardson plans to “collaborate with the rest of the student government by letting them know what needs to be done solely from the 11th-grade opinion” by working with teachers and administration. She said, “The way we’re going to get what we want this year is by reminding everyone how hard the last two years of high school are.”
